In 2016 and 2017 The Colonie-Guilderland Rotary Club headed a multi-club food drive to support the Food Pantries for the Capital District. In 2016 the drive resulted in over 2,200 pounds of food and $1160 dollars, and placed second of 18 Hunger Hero’s teams staging food drives.

At the awards presentation Wednesday the 8th, 2017 at the NYS Museum the Rotary Clubs of the Capital Region were recognized for their participation in the Hunger Heros Food Drive. 

 

With help form many local Rotary Clubs, Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte, and Berkshire Bank we collected and donated 2434 pounds of food and $495 to the Food Pantries for the Capital District and took 1st place.

Last year the CanStruction event in Albany ranked #3 in the world, generating over 104,000 pounds of food, and was surpassed only by events in Huston and Dallas Texas.
